Illinois

My girlfriend, Jordan, lives out here in Illinois about 20 minutes from Chicago and I've been here with her for about a week for Thanksgiving break. I go home tomorrow, but I thought I'd write a quick entry since I haven't in a bit.

HI! Well while out here we visited some stores and I got some new shoes since mine were about to explode with holes and such. It had already started, but that is not the point. One store is called Hobby Lobby and of course I fell in love with it. Not really to buy things but to be inspired by things. The prices are a bit high unless they are having sales on stuff but other wise it is a gold mine for getting ideas and the like. I will be posting photos of things I took with my cell but ya. I have a bunch of ideas for things now.

I have wanted to make postcards each xmas to send out to family and such and this may just be the inspiration I have needed to do so. I'm going to create one original then scan it into my computer and print them out on photo cardstock with post things on the back as well and get stamps and such and send them out so I won't have to make a million by hand. That way I can also personalize each one without a huge hassle. ^_^ Sweet. But yes. I will be posting this photos soon. Hmmmm.

Peace and Create,

Lots of things happen in short times

Let's get straight to the chase eh? I disassembled one of my cameras during 2-D Design and Color class with my wonderful teacher Debra Eck. After undoing this I then got excited since it took so long, it's my first try and all, and then I joined the class in the project we were undergoing, an altered book project ^_^. I hadn't known that we were going to be doing this or I would have brought the books I had bought on the street in New York when I went the last month!!! But this was fine since she had these awesome old encyclopedias. The paper was awesome, yellowed and thick, I love old paper. The feel of it, the smell, the... taste? Nah not really the taste but hey... maybe someday I'll find a book that I do, maybe there's a cookbook with scratch and lick stickers in it? Yes. So that night I went home and tried to reload the camera... to no avail, but I will not give up... I broke some things inside the camera, this may be why... in fact I'm sure of it. Hahahaha. That's fine since I have.. MORE! MUHAHAHA. But okay, yes.

As I made my way through looking around for ideas for my identity project for this design class I stumbled upon some great and inspiring images! I will show. Hmmmm... Yes ^_^ Here. - This. - That. - The other. - Here. - This. - The other thing. - another. - and another. - and yet. - an other. - and gosh - another.... - i'm such a busy body...

But ya... I gotta go guys.
Oh and yesterday... the 22nd now I guess was my girlfriend and I's 8 month anniversary.
WAIT!!! Deb tagged me!
So here we go! FIVE UNUSUAL THINGS ABOUT ME! This shouldn't be hard since as a person I believe I am pretty... unusual?

ONE- I don't like apple pie. Right? What is wrong with me?
TWO- I have a paisley tie and paisley fabric collection.... ya... love it.
Tres- LOVE CORDUROY!!!??!
Four- Two words. Vampires & Zombies. LOVE!
FIVER- I am too easily amused... really it is ridiculous... really.

PS?? Six- I'm super masochistic... to the point where it is sometimes really dangerous since i will sometimes get absolutely no sleep for days. This is involved in doing artwork and the like.

Love and peace, bye bye.

Sign Language

Ello,
Today during my sign language class we had a "speaker." He was deaf and had, in the past, gone to college here and taken art courses. He now works for a part of the college and is still creating art work. I found his work pretty inspiring since it was very conceptual and the like but he utilized woodworking as well as digital printmaking. The speaker did not have a website up as of yet but when he does I will be sure to post it over on the side bar.

On another note, my disposable cameras came in yesterday, this means I can start the project I had initially started this blog for, {insert corny laugh}. Okay. I had gotten these ideas from just typing in disposable cameras on Flickr, from baking the film to bleaching it or throwing the camera itself into a pool. The link is over on the side and also here. Take a peek. I will be scanning in sketchbook scribbles of what I plan on doing soon and then hopefully what comes of it. I have yet to get my hands on some developing tanks so I can soak the film in them. Also. I plan on getting these negatives developed at a Walgreens or Walmart in town, hopefully they don't reject them, hehehe.

Guess that is all for now... hmmm.

Peace!

PS- I have no idea why but I will always round the time of posting to the nearest 30 minutes... no idea why, I'm just weird like that... Not that it really even matters.

Establishing Shot

Typically at the beginning of a movie or scene they use an establishing frame to show where, or when, the scene will take place. Using this I will show where this blog takes place. Though this blog may and will change settings from where I travel to where I call my home, the point is, you'll know when it does change because I'll tell you.

Where: Milky Way Galaxy. Inner Solar System. Earth. About 5 minutes walking from SUNY Fredonia in a yellow house for now. Yes Yellow. Upstairs in a bedroom/studio. It's very cluttered and filled with boxes as if the individual who "lives" in the room does not care about the state of the room or know when it is leaving the area.
Time: Noon on an encroaching fall day in 2008.

I guess that will do. Welcome to the Brain Shoppe... I wasn't sure what to call this blog but since all the ideas that I get for projects will come from inspirations and such that react with my brain I though this would/could be a proper title. My plans and calculations or the like will be cataloged here and in my sketchbooks.

Come along and read along. Hopefully this blog will give some inspiration to those who are looking for it. I hope to become a bookmark in your inspiration folder in your favorites and a part of your blog even sometime.
